A Paradigm Shift in Pedagogical Techniques: Critiquing the Established Norms of Student Engagement Strategies

The evolution of pedagogical techniques has long been influenced by traditional engagement strategies that predominantly rely on instructor-led methodologies. This article examines the efficacy of these established concepts against emerging, student-centric approaches that emphasize collaborative learning and digital integration. Utilizing a mixed-methods design, we conducted a comparative analysis involving quantitative surveys from 500 students across diverse educational institutions and qualitative interviews with 30 educators. Our findings reveal a statistically significant enhancement in student motivation and academic performance, with a p-value of 0.03, when implementing innovative engagement techniques that leverage technology and peer collaboration. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on effective teaching practices and advocates for a critical re-evaluation of existing pedagogical frameworks.
