Examining the Economic Resilience of Small Enterprises in Post-Pandemic Italy: An Empirical Analysis of Recovery Strategies

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, small enterprises in Italy grappled with unprecedented economic challenges. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to explore the recovery strategies adopted by these businesses. Data were collected from over 500 small enterprises across various sectors, revealing that those employing innovative digital strategies and leveraging local networks exhibited a 35% higher recovery rate than peers. Additionally, our qualitative findings underscore the importance of community engagement and adaptive business models as critical resilience factors. These insights contribute to the broader literature on economic recovery post-crisis, emphasizing tailored support mechanisms for small enterprises. The findings suggest actionable strategies for policymakers seeking to bolster the economic resilience of small businesses in the aftermath of global disruptions.
