This study explores the economic implications of green bonds within the European Union context, focusing on their impact on sustainable financing and market efficiency. Employing empirical methods, we analyze data from the last decade, utilizing econometric models to determine correlations between green bond issuance and market reactions. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between green bond performance and investor interest, suggesting that green bonds not only foster sustainable investments but also enhance market liquidity. Furthermore, we discover that the economic benefits are more pronounced in nations with stricter environmental regulations, a crucial insight for policymakers aiming to leverage green finance in achieving climate goals. Our research contributes to the discourse on sustainable finance by providing empirical evidence of the economic feasibility of green bonds in stimulating investment flow into renewable projects and facilitating sustainable economic growth.
