Market Dynamics and Policy Implications: Addressing Price Volatility in Agricultural Commodities

This study investigates the persistent issue of price volatility in agricultural commodities, which poses significant challenges to food security and economic stability. Using advanced econometric models, we analyze historical price trends and market responses to external shocks, including climate change and geopolitical tensions. Our findings reveal that short-term policy interventions, such as strategic stockpiling and export restrictions, can mitigate volatility but may lead to long-term market distortions. We propose a framework for balancing immediate relief with sustainable agricultural practices and recommend specific policy adjustments to enhance market resilience. The insights drawn from our analysis contribute to the ongoing discourse on agricultural policy reform in the face of climate uncertainty.
