This study seeks to critically reevaluate established economic theories regarding market monopolization, particularly in light of the recent global economic shifts. Utilizing a quantitative approach, we analyzed data from over 500 firms across various industries using advanced econometric models, including Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression techniques. Our findings reveal significant inefficiencies in market monopolization that challenge conventional wisdom, with a particular focus on the impact of digitalization on competition. By employing a rigorous data collection methodology combined with robust statistical analysis, this paper highlights the increasing need for a reformulation of existing policies to better regulate monopolistic behaviors in the rapidly evolving economic landscape. Our results indicate a statistically significant correlation between monopolistic practices and reduced consumer welfare, suggesting that policymakers must revisit their strategies to foster competition and enhance market efficiency.
