This article investigates the effects of rapid urbanization on social networks in emerging economies. By examining case studies from Brazil, India, and Nigeria, we explore how urbanization alters social structures and influences community ties. Our findings reveal that while urbanization can weaken traditional social networks, it also fosters the emergence of new forms of social interaction. This study contributes to the understanding of urban sociology and its implications for social cohesion and community development in rapidly urbanizing regions.
