The Influence of Urban Design on Social Interaction

Urban design plays a critical role in fostering or hindering social interaction within cities. This study examines how elements such as public spaces, walkability, and architectural styles influence social behaviors. Focusing on several European capitals, the research utilizes observational studies and surveys to assess the quality of interactions in differently designed urban areas. Results suggest that thoughtful urban design can significantly enhance social cohesion and community well-being.
