Abstract

This study investigates the intricate dynamics of interlanguage pragmatics within multilingual contexts, emphasizing the critical role that socio-cultural variables play in communicative success. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, we collected data from over 300 participants across five distinct linguistic backgrounds through structured interviews and contextual language assessments. Our findings indicate significant variations in pragmatic competence, with a notable quantifiable impact from cultural exposure and language proficiency. Specifically, we identified a 25% increase in successful intercommunication incidents among participants with extensive cross-cultural experiences, highlighting the need for targeted pedagogical frameworks in language education. Appropriately, the study contributes to the ongoing discourse on pragmatic competence by offering a refined methodological toolkit for analyzing interlanguage interactions.
