Abstract

As urbanization accelerates, the efficiency and sustainability of transportation networks are critical to economic growth and environmental sustainability. This study presents an advanced methodological optimization framework utilizing heuristic algorithms for multi-modal transportation network design. Leveraging both genetic algorithms and simulated annealing, we assessed real-world case studies in metropolitan areas to enhance interconnectivity and reduce transit times. Data was collected over three months, focusing on modal split analysis and cost-benefit ratio evaluations. The results indicated a 15% improvement in route efficiency and a 20% reduction in operational costs compared to conventional methods. These findings underscore the importance of integrating innovative methodologies into transportation engineering to address the growing challenges of urban transit systems.
