Abstract

This article examines the influence of high-speed rail (HSR) systems on regional development, focusing on economic growth, employment, and urbanization. Using empirical data from multiple countries with established HSR networks, the study assesses the extent to which HSR contributes to regional economic integration. The findings suggest that HSR significantly enhances regional connectivity, leading to increased investment and job creation. Furthermore, the paper discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with HSR development, providing insights for policymakers and stakeholders involved in infrastructure planning and regional development.
