Abstract

This study explores the implementation of sustainable urban transport systems in Amsterdam, focusing on the integration of cycling infrastructure and public transport solutions. By analyzing data from local government reports and conducting interviews with city planners, the research highlights the significant role of policy-making in promoting environmentally friendly transportation. The findings indicate that a combination of infrastructural investment and community engagement has led to a substantial increase in cycling rates and a reduction in vehicular emissions. This paper provides valuable insights into how cities can transition toward more sustainable transport models while addressing urban growth challenges.
