This article investigates the economic impacts of high-speed rail (HSR) development in China, focusing on its effects on regional connectivity and economic growth. Utilizing economic data and geographic information systems (GIS), the study analyzes how HSR projects have facilitated market integration and increased accessibility to major urban centers. The research highlights the positive outcomes, including job creation, regional economic disparity reduction, and tourism growth. However, it also addresses challenges such as environmental concerns and the financial sustainability of ongoing HSR projects. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for optimizing the benefits of HSR systems.
