Reassessing Paradigms of Periodontal Regeneration: A Meta-Analytical Critique of Current Clinical Practices

Recent advancements in periodontal therapy have prompted a reevaluation of established concepts surrounding periodontal regeneration. This study employs a systematic meta-analysis of clinical trials from 2010-2023, evaluating the efficacy of novel biomaterials alongside traditional grafts. Our empirical methods revealed that the application of advanced biomaterials leads to a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.05) in periodontal attachment levels compared to conventional methods. Notably, the utilization of growth factor-enriched scaffolds demonstrates enhanced healing rates, suggesting a paradigm shift in therapeutic approaches. This research highlights the need for practitioners to adapt evidence-based strategies that optimize patient outcomes while addressing the emerging complexities in periodontal therapy. The findings underscore the critical role of ongoing research in redefining clinical paradigms within the field.
