Abstract

Periodontal diseases pose significant global health challenges, leading to tooth loss and systemic health issues. This study presents a novel biomechanical model that re-evaluates how forces are distributed across periodontal tissues during mastication. Employing advanced finite element analysis, we simulated diverse loading scenarios across various demographics. Our results reveal critical insights: the conventional understanding of load distribution is oversimplified, with significant variations observed based on individual anatomical structures. Furthermore, the model indicates a 35% increase in stress distribution efficiency when considering real-time adaptive responses of periodontal ligaments, suggesting implications for targeted therapeutic strategies. The findings contribute to a more nuanced understanding of periodontal health and its influence on overall well-being.
