A Comparative Analysis of Multi-Modal Imaging Techniques in the Early Detection of Pancreatic Neoplasms

Abstract

Pancreatic cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, primarily due to its late diagnosis. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of multi-modal imaging techniques, including MRI, CT, and PET, in the early detection of pancreatic neoplasms. We employed a retrospective analysis of patient records at three major hospitals, examining imaging outcomes, clinical follow-ups, and histopathological results. Our findings indicate that the integrated use of MRI and PET significantly increases sensitivity rates compared to conventional CT imaging alone, achieving a sensitivity of 92% versus 73% (p < 0.001). These results suggest that a combined imaging approach may enhance early diagnostic capabilities and potentially improve patient outcomes.
