Abstract

Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness globally, requiring urgent attention in the development of effective therapeutic strategies. This article reviews novel treatment modalities that have emerged over the past decade. The focus is on pharmacological advances, laser therapy enhancements, and the role of stem cell technology. Specifically, the benefits and limitations of anti-VEGF drugs, improved laser treatments, and the promise of regenerative medicine are examined. These innovations offer hope for better patient outcomes and reduced healthcare burdens associated with diabetes-related vision loss.
