Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) has emerged as a global health crisis, with its prevalence spiking alarmingly in the past decade. This case study investigates the relationship between gut microbiota dysbiosis and metabolic endotoxemia in a cohort of T2D patients. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, we analyzed fecal samples from 150 participants, employing advanced metagenomic sequencing and quantitative PCR to assess microbial composition alongside serum endotoxin levels. Our findings revealed significant correlations between specific bacterial taxa and metabolic parameters, including HbA1c and BMI, highlighting the dysbiotic state of gut microbiota as a pivotal factor in exacerbating T2D. Furthermore, we explored therapeutic modulation through targeted dietary interventions aimed at restoring microbiota balance, resulting in measurable improvements in insulin sensitivity and glycemic control. These results underscore the potential of microbiota-targeted therapies in managing T2D, offering novel avenues for future clinical applications.
